We are delighted to welcome Morocco (Carolina Varga Dinicu) to Majma 2009 for her first visit.

Morocco is considered a leading performer in the U.S.A. has taught and performed in Europe, the Middle East, South America and Australia. With numerous awards, including Best Instructor (IAMED) and Ethnic Dancer of the Year, Morocco was given the Lifetime Achievement award in 2002 by Zaghareet Magazine.

Morocco created the Casbah Dance Experience which had its debut at Lincoln Center in 1978 and was presented 5 times at Riverside Dance Festival. Morocco led many highly successful tours to Morocco, Egypt and Turkey, introducing many to the music and dance of the areas. She has taught at SUNY-Purchase and Amas Repertory Theater and continues to teach at her own Academy of Mideastern Dance in NYC.
